Job Description

The Data Service Line Lead is a strategic and influential position responsible for defining, driving, and refining Version 1’s go-to-market approach for data services and solutions. This individual will own the vision, strategy, and execution plan that transforms how Version 1 positions and delivers data offerings to clients, ensuring alignment with market trends, emerging technologies, and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Current Data Landscape
    • Map and evaluate existing offerings, accelerators, skills, references, and partnerships to understand Version 1’s current data capabilities.
    • Identify gaps and opportunities within the existing portfolio for future innovation.
  • Conduct Market Research
    • Stay informed on data trends, emerging technologies, and niche market opportunities relevant to target industries and customers.
    • Analyze competitor positioning and recommend strategic differentiators.
  • Develop Data Vision & Strategy
    • Formulate a forward-looking data strategy that integrates partnerships, accelerators, methodologies, and reference architecture.
    • Align the strategy with company goals and customer needs.
  • Shape Go-to-Market Narrative
    • Collaborate with sales to translate the data strategy into compelling narratives.
    • Create collateral like pitch decks, brochures, and thought leadership content.
  • Enable Delivery Teams & Partners
    • Work with delivery teams and partners to ensure readiness for new offerings, including resource planning and upskilling.
    • Establish frameworks for successful data project delivery.
  • Support Pre-Sales Engagements
    • Act as a trusted advisor and SME for clients and stakeholders.
    • Participate in solution scoping and proposal development.
  • Drive Transformational Change
    • Own and promote the data agenda, fostering culture of innovation.
    • Measure and report on data initiatives’ impact, refining approaches as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience in defining and implementing data strategies or transformation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, engineering, analytics, AI/ML, and emerging tech.
  • Experience in market analysis and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Ability to develop compelling narratives with sales and marketing teams.
  • Experience managing technology partnerships.
  • Leadership experience working with delivery teams, mentoring, and guiding cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with adaptability to change and ambiguity.
