The Data Science Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to strategic direction by considering their application in their job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness.

There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, including colleagues in other areas and external customers. The role has a significant impact on the area through complex deliverables and provides advice and counsel related to technology or operations. Work impacts an entire area, affecting overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct strategic data analysis, identify insights and implications, and make strategic recommendations; develop data displays to communicate complex analysis effectively.
• Deliver analytics initiatives addressing business problems, determining data needs, assessing effort, and establishing project plans.
• Consult with business clients to identify system specifications and solve complex system issues through evaluation of business processes, systems, and industry standards; recommend solutions.
• Lead system change processes from requirements to implementation; provide user and operational support of applications.
• Define system scope and goals for complex projects through research and understanding of business systems and standards.
• Facilitate communication between business leaders and IT; demonstrate sound communication and diplomacy skills for complex information exchange.
• Conduct workflow analysis, model business processes, develop use cases, test plans, and business rules; assist in user acceptance testing.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of supported business areas and engage partners to evaluate process improvements.
• Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders, including senior management.
• Identify risks impacting project delivery and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop strategies to reduce costs, manage risks, and improve services.

Qualifications:

• MBA or advanced degree in Information Systems, Business Analysis, or Computer Science.
• Significant experience with tools for statistical modeling of large datasets.
• Experience in Process Improvement or Project Management.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
