Job summary

GTR in London is seeking a Data Scientist to help unlock the power of data, machine learning and advanced analytics across one of the UK's largest train operating companies.

You will join the Central Data & AI function, building predictive and prescriptive models, collaborating with stakeholders, and shaping data science standards for the organisation to maximise value and safety.

This hybrid role offers modern tooling, scalable analytics and tangible outcomes for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering end-to-end data science projects in a business setting.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with ML model design, training, validation and deployment.
• Ability to translate complex analytics into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive and prescriptive models from DataHub datasets.
• Apply statistical and ML techniques to identify trends, risks and future outcomes.
• Frame business problems with stakeholders and define hypotheses.
• Translate analytics into clear insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Explain model assumptions, limitations and risks.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to build data models for analytics.
• Monitor and improve model performance as conditions change.
• Help develop data science standards and governance.
• Support responsible AI adoption in the enterprise.
