Job summary

Checkout.com is seeking an experienced Payments Data Analyst to join our growing analytics team in London. You will translate merchant data into actionable insights, drive experiments, and build automation to monitor merchant performance.

You’ll work with SQL and Python to query large datasets from our data warehouse, measure impact with clear success metrics, and collaborate across product, sales, and engineering to improve merchant experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an analytical role either at a Fintech or Consultancy, using analysis to make business recommendations.
• Data driven approach, by clearly defining success metrics and measuring progress against them.
• SQL / Python knowledge to extract & analyse large data from our Data Warehouse.
• Good knowledge of today’s major e-commerce and payments technologies and trends.
• Customer driven and able to establish robust relationship with assigned customer base.

Responsibilities

• Deliver insights to merchants by crafting optimal payments strategy.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and anomalies.
• Conduct experiments and A/B tests to improve performance, including ML-based solutions.
• Develop automation tools to monitor and optimise merchants’ performance.
• Implement robust measurements to assess impact on merchants’ revenue and ROI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure an outstanding merchant experience.
• Elevate internal awareness of merchant services and benefits with leadership.
• Drive a culture of cross-team learning and knowledge sharing.

How you’ll make an impact

• Deliver expertise and guidance to our key merchants by crafting optimal payments strategy.
• Conduct deep-dive exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and anomalies
• Conduct experiments and A/B tests to improve performance, including ML based solutions.
• Develop cutting-edge automation tools aimed at monitoring and optimising merchants’ performance.
• Implement robust measurements to assess how proposed solutions impact merchants' performance and revenue, providing valuable insights for both internal and external ROI.
• Collaborate with various teams across the company to ensure an outstanding merchant experience and feed requirements for product development
• Elevate internal awareness, particularly within the executive team, regarding the full spectrum of merchant services and benefits provided
• Drive a culture of cross-team learning and knowledge sharing

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years in an analytical role either at a Fintech or Consultancy, using analysis to make business recommendations
• A huge advantage if you have previous experience working as Payment Analyst/Expert
• Data driven approach, by clearly defining success metrics and measuring progress against them
• SQL / Python knowledge to extract & analyse large data from our Data Warehouse
• Good knowledge of today’s major e-commerce and payments technologies and trends
• Customer driven and able to establish robust relationship with assigned customer base
