An opportunity is available for a Data Scientist to join the group of Dr Marco Tripodi at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) to design and develop novel computational pipelines for the acquisition and analysis of behavioural and neurophysiological data as well as the development of a novel standard database structure for the storage and distribution of neurophysiology data.

We are looking for a candidate with a background in software/electronic engineering or equivalent experience.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in software/electrical/biomedical engineering or a related quantitative discipline. Experience in software and hardware design and an interest in neuroscience is desirable, although no formal experience in neuroscience is required. Excellent programming skills (e.g. Python, C++) is required, experience with SQL, high-performance computing, signal processing are highly desirable.

This is a two-year training and development position suitable for you if you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills. Working with our world class scientists you will be working in an Institute renowned for its excellent scientific facilities and high-quality research.
