Summary

Here at Insmed Cambridge, we believe that data drives discovery. We are developing the next generation of computational tools and machine learning models to accelerate therapeutic development for rare genetic diseases. To support this mission, we are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist with expertise in Machine Learning to join our growing team. In this role, you will help build a pioneering platform enabling data-driven drug discovery, target discovery and nucleic acid therapy development. You will apply a wide range of data science and machine learning techniques - including life science foundation models, generative design, uncertainty-aware decision making, and multi-modal data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data integration, mining, and analytics across chemical, biological, and multi-omics datasets to support target identification, hit discovery, and compound optimisation.
  • Design and develop robust machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to integrate ML models into production-grade pipelines, APIs and cloud-based services.
  • Building high-quality, well-tested and maintainable code
  • Provide analytical and statistical rigour to empower better decision making during experimental design.
  • Act as a subject expert to leverage data driven science working collaboratively with chemists, biologists, platform engineers, cheminformaticians, computational biologists, and data scientists.
What we are looking for
  • A post-graduate degree in machine learning, statistics, computer science, cheminformatics, bioinformatics, chemistry, biology, genetics, medicine or a similar area.
  • Experience in applying machine learning techniques to life science applications and datasets.
  • Strong data processing and analysis skills.
  • Confident coding in python and using common libraries (numpy, pandas, sklearn, pytorch / tensorflow, etc.)
  • Experience building robust ML and data science pipelines.
  • Experience with git version control, with familiarity of different branching and merging strategies.
