Job summary

Hastings Direct, a digital insurer, seeks a Data Scientist for a hybrid role across Leicester, Bexhill and London. You will build ML models to predict claims outcomes, fraud and risk KPIs and work with ML Engineers to deploy them.

You’ll monitor performance, translate results into commercial value, and present findings to stakeholders. The role sits in our Pricing, Data and Analytics community, offering growth and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries for building and deploying ML solutions in cloud environments.
• Ability to think commercially and link ML model performance to commercial KPIs.
• Experience using SQL.
• Keen interest in emerging ML techniques and their commercial value.
• Ability to communicate across teams of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Operational and Commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities
