Job summary

Allstate NI is recruiting a data scientist to join our analytics team. The role covers data acquisition, modelling, deployment support, monitoring and communicating results, in collaboration with the Managing Data Scientist and cross-functional partners.

You will apply statistics and ML techniques to build models addressing business needs, explore data sources, and contribute to ML/AI solution development using modern tools.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in the UK for Allstate employment
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Python in analytics, data science, ML, or data engineering
• Foundational understanding of statistics, ML, and data analysis with real-world application
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to execute well-defined work independently while seeking guidance
• Willingness to continuously learn and adopt new tools and methods

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and business partners to improve decision making through analytics, ML, and AI-driven solutions
• Apply statistical and ML techniques to develop models and analytical solutions addressing business needs
• Plan projects and break work into tasks with established timelines
• Explore, prepare, and analyze data sources to support modeling and insights
• Develop, test, deploy, and monitor ML/AI solutions
• Document modeling approaches, results, assumptions, and recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Research and experiment with new analytical methods, data sources, and technologies
• Collaborate with peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
