Summary

Insmed Cambridge is looking for a talented Data Scientist or Statistician to join our growing bioinformatics team! Apply your expertise in data science, statistics and programming to accelerate drug discovery and development across diverse projects.

Responsibilities

  • Apply analytical and statistical rigour to enable better decision making during experimental design.
  • Provide robust and rigorous statistical analyses of experimental results to aid our drug discovery programs.
  • Translate the results of statistical analyses to non-experts, explaining the methodology, the key assumptions, and the main outcomes of the analysis in a way that is easily consumed and understood.
  • Develop techniques for better visualising and explaining sophisticated statistical analyses.
  • Collaborate with lab scientists to drive automation and standardisation of workflows for routine biological assays.
What we look for
  • A post-graduate degree in statistics, machine learning, data science, computer science or bioinformatics.
  • Expertise in statistics, experimental design, and their application across a range of biological data.
  • Confident coding in either python or R for data science and statistics.
  • Experience communicating findings to non-experts.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools and libraries (matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot etc).
  • Experience with git version control, preferably with familiarity of branching and merging.
