About Us
The mission of the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health is to maximise and advocate for the holistic health of all children, young people and the adults they will become, through world-class research, education and public engagement. The UCL GOS ICH, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, forms the largest concentration of children’s health research outside North America. About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced data scientist to work closely with the PIs and the statistical and management team of the North Star project, a large natural history study on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). The appointed person will work on the North Star database to facilitate data cleaning, extraction and analysis. The database include clinical and physiotherapy assessments of individuals with DMD followed at the 23 national North Star centres, and the data collected are crucial to design natural history trajectories of the disease, design clinical trials and monitor long-term safety and efficacy profiles of approved medications. This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) post and salary is £43,374 pro-rata, pa.
About You
The successful candidate will have PhD or MSc in Computer Science / IT / Software Engineering / Information Systems / Maths / Technical Subject and previous experience. Technical experience of data management in clinical research, including the use of REDCap, knowledge of data governance and regulatory standards for clinical data management. Excellent programming skills – Python / SQ L/ GitHib / GitLab and experience in Technical documentation (GitHub / GitLab) are essential. Please check JD/PS for detailed information.
