Data Scientist

Location: Full remote (based in the UK)

Salary: £30,000 depending on experience

Primary Purpose

Develop XCM’s machine learning solutions, deliver client machine learning models, and produce associated documentation. Communicate findings to stakeholders, enhance client ROI through tailored data-driven solutions, support analytics on client roadmaps, and assist analysts with statistical techniques.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the lead Data Scientist and Director of Analytics to develop machine learning solutions.
2. Design, create, productionise, test, and maintain machine learning models.
3. Develop data models to analyze customer interactions, sales, web traffic, email performance, and social media trends.
4. Create technical, user, marketing, and project documentation.
5. Recommend developments for the XCM data modelling roadmap.
6. Present analytics and recommendations to colleagues and clients confidently.
7. Lead larger, complex statistical projects to produce strategic recommendations.
8. Coordinate actions based on analytical insights with relevant teams.
9. Respond to ad-hoc data requests as needed.
10. Commit to leadership, continuous improvement, and personal development.
11. Deliver objectives and maintain standards and discipline.
12. Manage quarterly appraisal processes and documentation.

Experience & Qualities

• Degree in a mathematical or computing discipline or equivalent.
• Over 2 years’ experience with production-level Python, including numpy, pandas, sklearn.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, workflows, and projects like recommender systems.
• Experience with containerised deployment (Docker) and CI/CD processes.
• Proficient in SQL and Microsoft Office.
