Job Description Summary

The Data Scientist will work individually or as part of a team to develop advanced analytics, ML and AI solutions which bring demonstrable value to GE Aerospace. You will be able to quickly assimilate customer requirements and translate these into working solutions. In this role you will be continuously exercising your analytic expertise, data knowledge and user experience skillset.

Role and Responsibilities

  • As a Data Scientist, you will work on projects which typically involve large and complex data sets.
  • Our Data Science projects include supporting all aspects of the GE Commercial engines business from in-service deployment, fleet monitoring and management to MRO, supply chain and financial operations.
  • Our job is to work alongside internal GE customers and stakeholders to develop, test and deploy analytics which solve their real-world problems and deliver significant value to the business.
  • We also develop custom in-house analytics tools to help deliver our projects efficiently and effectively.
  • The Data Scientist role combines data and analytics with applications knowledge.
  • We make extensive use of advanced techniques including LLMs, Computer Vision; Neural Networks; NLP and advanced statistics.

Education Qualification

(Minimum) Bachelor's Degree in a STEM subject (typically, but not limited to: Maths; Physics; Physical/Engineering Sciences; Data Science; Computer Science; Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering) with some relevant work experience.

Technical Skills

  • Analytical scripting skills – Python preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience of using Machine Learning / AI and advanced statistics.
  • SQL and Version Control (e.g. Github) experience useful.
  • A keen interest in Data Science / Analytics and working in commercial Aviation.
