Job Title: Data Scientist - Commercial Analytics

Join Diageo in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making as a GB Data Scientist. You will design and deploy machine learning and analytics solutions to enhance commercial performance and revenue growth, collaborating closely with Commercial, Finance, Marketing, and Digital & Technology teams across Great Britain.

  1. Lead the development of advanced analytics solutions focused on the Commercial function.
  2. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and translate them into analytical use cases.
  3. Collaborate with data engineers, visualization experts, and technology teams to ensure data quality, infrastructure readiness, and model deployment at scale.
  4. Communicate technical findings effectively to stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights and commercial narratives.
  5. Contribute to the development of AI and ML best practices.
  6. Identify opportunities to scale solutions across regions and support pre-sales technical scoping.
  7. Apply advanced data science methods to solve complex business problems, turning data into insights and scalable solutions.
  8. Work in a dynamic environment that encourages innovation, with access to cutting-edge tools and resources.
  9. Collaborate with diverse teams to drive business success through data-driven strategies.
  10. Explore career progression opportunities within the GB Business or our Global Digital and Technology functions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Proven experience in applying data science within a commercial environment.
  2. Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and processing large datasets; experience with PySpark and cloud platforms like Azure and Databricks.
  3. Strong experience developing statistical and machine learning models for business optimization.
  4. Ability to lead programs involving cross-functional teams.
  5. Excellent communication skills to present technical concepts in business-friendly terms.
  6. Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field; MBA or business analytics specialization is desirable.
