AIR6 SYSTEMS | AIRBORNE ROBOTICS in Basingstoke (UK) seeks a Data Science / Network & Communication Engineer to support secure, data-driven autonomous UAV systems. You will analyse UAV telemetry, sensor data and communications logs and contribute to cybersecurity engineering across drone platforms.

The role requires Python skills, data analysis, and familiarity with Pandas, NumPy and Scikit-learn, plus knowledge of Linux and networks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, CS, Network or related field.
Strong Python skills and data analysis experience.
Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn or similar tools.
Good understanding of Linux and computer networks.
Familiarity with cyber security principles, secure communications and vulnerability assessment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
English-speaking proficiency and right to work in the UK (visa-free travel to the EU).

Responsibilities

Analyse UAV flight telemetry, imagery and sensor data and communications logs.
Develop and maintain secure system and network architectures for drone platforms.
Create, train and assess machine-learning models for various drone applications.
Develop Python tools for data processing, analysis and visualisation.
Analyse LTE / 4G / 5G, VPN and satellite communications performance.
Support secure authentication, encryption, access control and system monitoring.
