Salary: Negotiable up to 90,000 Dependent on Experience

Our client is seeking to recruit a new Data Science Manager to lead data science initiatives and drive innovation in the healthcare industry. You'll have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in advanced analytics and machine learning within a dynamic and forward-thinking team, to shape the future of healthcare. The successful applicant will work on exciting Gen/AI, predictive, and customer behaviour projects, among others. Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to deliver value from data are essential.

Responsibilities

1. Lead a small team of Data Scientists in developing and implementing advanced data analytics, machine learning, and traditional and generative AI solutions to address complex business challenges within the healthcare sector.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, define data science strategies, and develop innovative products and services.
3. Oversee the end-to-end process of data collection, pre-processing, analysis, and model development to derive actionable insights and improve decision-making.
4. Drive the development and deployment of scalable and efficient machine learning models and algorithms to enhance healthcare services and optimize business operations.
5. Mentor and coach junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in data science practices.

Experience Required

• Good stakeholder communication skills with proven ability to translate complex scientific findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience coaching and leading junior Data Scientists within a senior data science role.
• Demonstrable experience developing complex AI projects with minimal supervision, following best practices.
• Proven ability to extract business value from data science methods using both quantitative and qualitative metrics.
• Strong mathematical and statistical background.
• Deep knowledge of Python and data science packages such as Scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, and PySpark.
• Experience working with mixed technical teams including engineers, architects, and business analysts.
• Familiarity with MLOps industry best practices.
• Understanding of the financial industry, particularly insurance, is advantageous.
