Job summary

Arch Europe Insurance Services Ltd. in London seeks an experienced analytics professional to design, build and deploy real-time predictive models within the London Market. You will work closely with business partners to identify problems and prioritise analytics solutions.

The role requires strong Python/SQL skills, NLP and data mining, plus experience with Databricks, Snowflake and Azure. You will mentor a growing team of data scientists and deliver actionable insights that drive insurance

Qualifications

  • Degree in a quantitative field or substantial analytics experience.
  • Experience in advanced analytics roles, preferably in insurance.
  • Experience in London Market insurance environment is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying real-time predictive models.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with peers to support project goals.
  • Oversee predictive model builds using GLMs, GBMs, NLP and ML techniques.
  • Deliver insights that drive business decisions.
  • Analyze internal and external datasets to develop analytics models.
  • Establish best practices and repeatable processes for the Strategic Analytics team.
  • Provide thought leadership on new techniques and software.
  • Guide and mentor the growing team of modelers.

Salary: £68,000 - 108,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Ability to design, build and implement statistical models, with an understanding of a range of analytical techniques such as predictive modelling, NLP and data mining.
  • Data manipulation and analytical skills in languages such as Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of modern visualization tools such as PowerBI is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake and Azure is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Effective task and project management and general organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical people across the organization.
  • Exceptional teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships with business partners.
  • Natural curiosity to understand the world around you and question as needed.
  • Comfort handling ambiguous concepts and breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in advanced analytics roles, with a significant portion in the insurance industry.
  • Experience working in an analytical role within a London Market insurance environment is a significant advantage.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying real-time predictive models in the London Market.
  • Experience delivering business value from small or non-standard data sets.
  • Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or a similar quantitative field; or significant experience in advanced data analytics.

  • Develop powerful insights using a variety of analytical tools, techniques and technologies, and deliver results into the business that drive business decisions.
  • Discover, explore and analyse internal and external datasets for the purpose of developing advanced analytics models.
  • Help establish best practices and repeatable processes for the Strategic Analytics team.
  • Provide thought leadership on new, innovative techniques, approaches and software.
  • Guide, support, mentor and develop the growing team of predictive modelers and data scientists.
