Job summary

Imperial Brands PLC is seeking a Data Scientist to turn data into actionable insights, develop analytical solutions, and influence strategic decision-making through advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modelling.

You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities, uncover trends, and deliver data‑driven solutions that create meaningful value across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable professional experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical methods.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and data visualization tools.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy advanced machine learning models, algorithms, and analytical solutions to identify patterns, uncover insights, and solve complex business challenges.
  • Translate business requirements into data science solutions, ensuring analytical initiatives align with strategic objectives and support executive decision-making.
  • Research, implement, and continuously enhance data science, machine learning, deep learning, and AI capabilities, contributing to technical architecture and best practices.
  • Establish robust model evaluation, validation, and monitoring frameworks, ensuring solutions are explainable, scalable, and deliver measurable performance.
  • Communicate and document data science outcomes effectively, presenting insights to business and technology stakeholders with comprehensive documentation.

Principle Accountabilities
  • Develop, test, and deploy advanced machine learning models, algorithms, and analytical solutionstoidentifypatterns, uncover insights, and solve complex business challenges.
  • Translate business requirements into data science solutions, ensuring analytical initiatives align with strategicobjectivesandsupport executive decision-making.

  • Support the wider data ecosystem,collaborating ondata preparation and ETL activities whererequired.
