EssenceMediacom Analytics & Insight houses all of the data, effectiveness, insight, and technology specialists within EssenceMediacom. The team has one purpose – to ensure the best use of data within media planning.

Our Analytics & Insight team is crucial for our client’s success by delivering a data-driven approach to media strategy, planning, and activation with an emphasis on accountability and innovation. This unit also empowers & guides the wider EssenceMediacom network on their own transformative data journey.

An integral part of Analytics & Insight is our Data Science and Modelling team which specialises in marketing analytics. We are committed to building connections along clients’ business journeys to ensure they can make the right decisions to optimise their business performance, using a range of analytical techniques bespoke for each business question and client.

Our expertise includes market mix modelling, budget setting and allocation, forecasting, brand equity modelling, launch volumetric studies, and conjoint analysis, among others. Our primary focus is on extracting insights from data and analytics to provide actionable, relevant recommendations for clients. We are a team of 60+ experts working across more than 25 clients in the UK and globally, analysing over £600m of communications spend annually, covering 15% of UK media spend, making us leaders in our field.

The Data Science and Modelling team is structured into three specialist areas, delivering projects seamlessly through collaboration. Projects are led by client teams who focus on client relationships and understanding business needs. The Data team ensures data collection, processing, and maintenance meet industry standards. The Modelling team provides technical expertise in MMM and other analytical methods that are statistically robust, effective, and intuitive.

The team is based in London, Manchester, and Leeds.

Overview of the Role

We’re seeking an Analyst to join our Data Science and Modelling team to deliver marketing analytics projects for UK and global clients. You will gain experience across all project elements, from data collection and processing to modelling and client reporting.

You will work closely with colleagues across all three specialisms within the Data and Modelling teams and various account groups within the agency, helping to action our findings.

Following a successful screening call, you will be invited to an in-person assessment on Wednesday 11th June 2025.

Unrivalled Training Programme

Upon joining, you will undertake a comprehensive training programme covering all areas of expertise and knowledge required for marketing analytics projects. The programme lasts 1 month and includes key learning and practical tasks. Afterward, you will be embedded within the Business Science team.

Measures of Success

In three months, you will have:

  • Completed the intensive training course and gained understanding of analytic project processes
  • Joined a client project, collaborating with colleagues across the department

In six months, you will have:

  • Delivered your first client project, supporting all stages

In 12 months, you will have:

  • Gained a good understanding of team roles and responsibilities, starting to specialise in an area of interest

Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Economics, Maths, Stats, Sciences, or other numerical subjects (2:1 or above)
  • Knowledge of R or other programming languages, through learning or academic experience
  • Experience with time series or other data analysis approaches
  • High numeracy and ability to translate analysis into actionable insights
  • Proficiency in Excel, statistical packages (Eviews, SPSS, R), and PowerPoint
  • Ambitious, determined, and self-motivated
  • Keen interest in media and marketing
