Data Risk & Controls Manager

Whitehall Resources is seeking a Data Risk & Controls Manager for an initial 6-month contract on a hybrid basis in London, Edinburgh, or Manchester.

Contract Details:

Main Responsibilities:

1. Oversee data release risks and implement controls to ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and quality.
2. Map metrics to BCBS239 standards.
3. Prepare Data Risk Assessment questionnaires and templates.
4. Assess data systems, processes, controls, and reports against questionnaires and templates.
5. Develop the Risk Appetite statement and Return to Green plan for data risks in specific business functions.
6. Manage Data Quality issues.
7. Collaborate with governance & assurance managers and risk & controls partners on all data risk aspects.
8. Ensure project compliance with standards and Data Management Operational procedures.

Key Skills:

• Extensive experience implementing BCBS239 standards, metrics, questionnaires.
• High-level knowledge of risks and controls, data architecture, and change management.
• Ability to deliver data risk management initiatives supporting operational risk frameworks.
• Support the business in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Support and oversee management of data risks within the business, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, and mitigate risks within the risk appetite, in collaboration with the second line of defense.
• Evaluate controls, identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies.
