Job description

Data Quality & Management Engineer (Automotive: Testing and Data Validation)

Certain Advantage is recruiting on behalf of a globally renowned automotive brand for a Data Quality & Management Engineer. The role involves providing timely, accurate, secured, and accessible test data to enable efficient engineering decisions.

The engineering group requires world-class test and data management and validation. The role involves working cross-functionally to deploy a common approach to data piping, data validation tools, and building a federated data platform.

This is a contract role inside IR35 until 31st March (initially), based in Coventry.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  1. Manage data sources, data acquisition, quality validation, pipelines, storage, and visualization for the physical test environment.
  2. Deliver data quality reviews to support programme targets and validate technologies.
  3. Develop calculations, parameterization, regulations, and processes for in-house data tools.
  4. Ensure the facility produces repeatable and reproducible measurements compliant with regulations.
  5. Perform correlation exercises across test facilities and beds.
  6. Continuously improve measurement quality through equipment, systems, and method reviews.
  7. Calculate and evaluate test results, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  8. Collaborate on projects to improve test bed consistency and repeatability.
  9. Work closely with Data Quality experts to meet team KPIs.
  10. Recommend process improvements to enhance data quality.
  11. Research and implement best practices in data quality and test field efficiency.
  12. Optimize equipment use to improve data quality.
  13. Promote a growth mindset within the team.
  14. Coach and facilitate knowledge sharing in data validation and management for team development.
  15. Perform any other duties as directed by the line manager.
