Job summary

Alfred H Knight is seeking a Data Quality Analyst to join the Operational Data Strategy team at our Prescot (Liverpool) head office. You will harmonise large, fragmented datasets across 40+ regional systems and feed standardised data into our MDM platform to enable accurate global reporting.

In this role, you will partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards, translating regulatory rules into technical data quality measures and supporting intentions of our growing data maturity and reporting

Qualifications

• Experience in data quality, data analysis, or data support roles within a complex multi-system environment.
• Experience working with unnormalised legacy database structures and disparate data sources.
• Exposure to TIC, LIMS software, or ISO 17025/9001 frameworks is advantageous.

• Work directly with Data Owners and Data Stewards to improve data quality.

Job description

• Technical SQL Capabilities: Proven, hands-on experience writing SQL queries, scripts, and routines to extract, profile, audit, and clean large, multi-source datasets (multi-table joins, aggregations, window functions).
• Python Scripting: Practical proficiency in Python (e.g. Pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation, batch processing, and automation.
• Data Profiling & Quality: Demonstrable experience using data profiling tools (e.g. Microsoft Purview or similar) to evaluate large datasets and investigate root causes of data anomalies.
• Master Data Management (MDM): Working knowledge of or exposure to an enterprise MDM platform (e.g. Semarchy, Reltio, Informatica MDM, Profisee, SAP MDG).
• Bridging Tech & Business: Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, with the proven ability to explain technical data quality issues in clear, practical terms to non-technical business stewards and operational leads., Detail-oriented: Structured, persistent approach to investigating data discrepancies across fragmented legacy systems.
• Collaborative team player: Comfortable working alongside cross-functional and multi-regional teams to establish shared standards.
• Proactive mindset: Ability to translate operational rules and regulatory compliance requirements into technical Data Quality rules.

Required Work Experience

• Demonstrable practical experience in a Data Quality, Data Analysis, or Data Support role within a complex, multi-system business environment.
• Experience working with unnormalised legacy database structures, inconsistent formatting, and disparate data sources.
• Exposure to Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC), laboratory environments (LIMS software), or ISO 17025 / 9001 frameworks is advantageous., Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline (or equivalent practical industry experience).
