Job description
About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Quality Analyst to join the Data Quality and Innovation Team within North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) on a 12-month fixed-term basis. As part of a friendly and forward-thinking team, you will help to drive improvements in the accuracy, completeness and reliability of our data across the organisation. Your work will play a vital role in supporting operational performance, digital transformation, and patient-centred care. This role will suit a motivated analyst with strong attention to detail, a logical mindset, and a passion for improving data quality and insight within a fast-paced NHS environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and maintain accurate, timely data quality reports and dashboards.
  • Support regular data quality audits and provide clear feedback to operational teams.
  • Identify root causes of data quality issues and support teams to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Extract and analyse data using SQL and Power BI, supporting operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Informatics, Digital Innovation and Operations to ensure high-quality data capture and use.
  • Promote and support compliance with national data standards and Information Governance principles.
About You

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) and have demonstrable analytical skills, including proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel, and experience of Power BI report development. You’ll be confident working independently, managing competing priorities, and communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels. Experience within the NHS or another healthcare setting is desirable but not essential — what’s most important is your curiosity, attention to detail and commitment to improving data quality to support better care.
