Job summary

VIQU IT is expanding its Service Operations team and seeks a Data Protection Specialist to own hands-on backup and recovery duties. This remote role includes quarterly travel to London, direct customer exposure and opportunities to grow within a specialist environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 IT support experience is required.
• Strong troubleshooting and escalation skills expected.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Backup/DR exposure with listed products is advantageous.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms is preferred.
• PowerShell scripting is a plus and ITIL awareness is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Level 2 escalation point for Level 1 support.
• Troubleshoot straightforward and complex technical issues.
• Review logs and identify resolutions.
• Escalate to vendors and manage through resolution.
• Patch and update applications and implement service requests.
• Restore client data and maintain monitoring/alerting.
• Document technical processes and admin Rubrik, Druva, Zerto and Commvault tools.
• Coordinate escalations to Level 3 support.

Job description

Salary: £10,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong technical background with previous Level 2 IT support experience
• Confident troubleshooting and technical escalation capability
• Strong written and verbal customer communication skills
• Ability to work with technical and business stakeholders
• Backup or DR exposure including Rubrik, Druva, Zerto, Commvault or NetBackup would be advantageous
• VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Azure or AWS knowledge would be advantageous
• Microsoft 365, Windows Server or Linux knowledge would be advantageous
• PowerShell scripting and automation skills would be advantageous
• ITIL awareness would be advantageous

Responsibilities
