We are currently seeking a Data Protection Officer to join our team reporting to our Group Health and Safety Manager. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our organisation's overall security posture. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you'll ensure compliance, identify and mitigate risks, and champion a culture of security and responsibility.

We are looking for a proactive candidate with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management, and industry best practices, who will fulfill the tasks of the designated role of DPO.

Main duties and responsibilities:
  1. Conduct risk assessments, define mitigation strategies, and assess potential risks to information assets, operations, and systems.
  2. Stay informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to maintain compliance.
  3. Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls regarding CCTV, locking systems, and security systems.
  4. Conduct regular compliance audits and provide guidance to business units on compliance requirements.
  5. Develop and deliver training programs to promote a culture of compliance within the organisation.
  6. Monitor changes in the regulatory landscape and industry trends, proactively identifying emerging risks.
  7. Stay abreast of technologies and practices, recommending enhancements to existing controls.
What you need:
  1. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a regulated industry or complex organisation.
  2. In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
  3. Coordination and governance on the implementation and management of GDPR/DPA-related policies and procedures across the organisation, including data retention, GDPR/DPA policies, data subject requests, and third-party compliance.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Effective communication skills, conveying complex information to various stakeholders.
  6. Ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  7. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
