Job Description:

Are you highly technical with experience in Data Protection, Data Privacy law and regulatory compliance? We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Manager to join our AXA Health Data Protection team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will provide privacy compliance advice to AXA Health, helping to identify and manage privacy risks from strategic change programmes. You will support the operation of the AXA UK privacy compliance framework, advising on breach management, individual rights responses, marketing queries, etc. You will also enhance processes including policy review, process updates, communication, and training.

The role involves working with teams such as Pricing, Customer Services, Data Science, IT, Data Governance, Data Security, Risk and Compliance, Legal, and third-party providers. Initiatives include Robotic Process Automation, Data Analytics, AI (including GenAI), company reorganisations, customer service transformations, claims transformation, digital transformation, and new product launches.

At AXA, we promote flexible working, allowing you to balance home and office work, with at least 40% of your week in the office, moving to mostly office work from September 2025. We are open to discussing flexible arrangements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing privacy advice to strategic change programmes via DPIAs, presentations, and meetings, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Designing and reviewing data privacy processes and templates supporting the Data Privacy Compliance Framework.
  • Designing bespoke data protection risk processes/templates as needed.
  • Keeping documentation up-to-date and accessible.
  • Communicating effectively (written and verbal).
  • Proposing solutions to process inefficiencies and working with teams to implement changes.
  • Participating in discussions with the Data Protection team, providing expert views on legal and regulatory issues.
  • Reviewing Data Protection clauses with third parties and clients as needed.

Due to high application volume, the role may close early.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in Data Protection within a large commercial group; health insurance experience is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Data Privacy law and regulations, including AI-related requirements.
  • Knowledge of the health insurance sector and health data challenges.
  • Experience with healthcare data governance and consent (helpful but not essential).
  • Experience establishing and enhancing Data Privacy compliance frameworks.
  • Strong commercial understanding of business and Data Protection strategies.
  • Familiarity with new technologies and third-party arrangements.
