We are looking for a Data Protection Manager to join Nucleus Financial in a new role adding to the team. This is a great opportunity for a Data Protection Manager to play a key role working within the Data Governance Team to monitor and oversee the compliance to relevant Data Protection Legislation and best practice.

The Data Protection Manager is responsible for supporting the Head of Data Governance and Data Protection Officer in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's data protection framework. This role ensures that the organisation complies with all relevant data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and fosters a culture of data privacy throughout the organisation.

The Data Protection Manager will provide expert advice and guidance on data protection matters, monitor compliance, and manage data protection risks. They will also act as a key point of contact for data subjects and regulatory bodies, ensuring that data protection policies are effectively communicated and adhered to across all departments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the DPO in monitoring compliance with all relevant UK Data Protection Legislation.
  • Maintain and update Records of Processing Activities.
  • Support Data Protection Impact Assessments and other data protection audits.
  • Draft, review and update data protection policies, procedures, and guidance documents.
  • Act as the Data Protection expert when supporting projects.
  • Identify and record relevant data protection risks and support mitigation planning.
  • Prepare reports and briefings for the DPO, senior management, and governance committees
  • Review and maintain documentation to demonstrate GDPR accountability and implement improvements to drive compliance.
  • Liaise with internal teams to review legal contracts and ensure relevant provisions are included.
  • Act as first point of contact for data breaches, risk events and incidents.
  • Give general advice and guidance on Data Protection legislation and its application.
