Job summary

Anakin Seal Legal Recruitment is representing a leading national law firm recruiting a data protection lawyer to join its Health Commercial & Regulatory team in the UK. The role focuses on data governance, information law and commercial matters for NHS bodies, healthcare providers and life sciences clients.

The successful candidate will handle data protection issues, draft data processing agreements and navigate regulatory compliance, with significant client exposure and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitors with experience advising on data protection and information law.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or regulatory matters.
• Health sector experience advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills.
• Proactive approach to business development and networking.

Responsibilities

• Advise healthcare organisations, public bodies and commercial clients on data protection and information governance matters.
• Draft and negotiate data processing agreements, data sharing arrangements and international transfer documentation.
• Support clients with data breaches, privacy notices and subject access requests.
• Advise on the legal use of health data by researchers, innovators and technology providers.
• Draft and negotiate framework agreements, bespoke commercial contracts and technology licensing arrangements.
• Provide advice on Freedom of Information requests and public law issues associated with data use.
• Work closely with clients across the health, life sciences and technology sectors.
