Job summary

Aon plc in the UK and Ireland is seeking a Data Protection Administrator to support our Technology team. You will help ensure compliance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU GDPR, manage policies, procedures, and records, and advise staff on data protection matters.

Responsibilities include handling data subject access requests, data breach responses, DPIAs, PIAs, training staff, and liaising with ICO. A minimum of two years' experience and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of UK Data Protection Act 2018 and EU GDPR.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Minimum of two years' experience in data protection or a similar role.
• Data protection certification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and reviewing data protection policies and procedures in line with UK DPA 2018 and GDPR.
• Monitoring and auditing compliance of data processing activities with legislation and internal policies.
• Performing data protection due diligence reviews on new acquisitions.
• Conducting data mapping and classifying data to identify risks.
• Overseeing DPIAs and PIAs for projects, systems, or processes.
• Providing training and awareness on data protection principles to staff and stakeholders.
• Acting as main contact for data protection queries internally and externally.
• Managing data subject access requests and data breach incidents promptly.
