Job summary

Collinson is looking for a Data Protection Governance Specialist to support the development, maintenance and enhancement of our data protection compliance framework. You will work within the Data Protection team to ensure policies, procedures and governance materials are accurate, practical and aligned with applicable legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Accredited qualifications in information governance, records management and/or data protection (BCS/CIPP) or equivalent gained through relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of data protection and applicable legislation across multiple jurisdictions, information security controls and compliance management.
• Proven experience advising on or implementing data protection compliance programmes in complex environments.
• Able to explain data protection risks clearly and non-technically to the business.
• Proven project management skills with a focus on delivery and results.
• Strong understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance and enhancement of the data protection compliance framework, ensuring policies and guidance remain accurate and aligned to laws.
• Review and develop data protection policies, process documents, templates, playbooks and checklists.
• Collaborate with the Group DPO to improve structure, consistency and accessibility of core documents.
• Support embedding governance processes with clear ownership, escalation routes, approvals and evidence of compliance.
• Assist with implementing and improving the organisation's data protection accountability framework.
