Job summary

Proofpoint in the United Kingdom is seeking a Data Protection Analyst to join our security operations team. You’ll perform day-to-day data protection tasks, investigate policy triggers, and support platform health and rule validation as you grow into more senior engineering ownership.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers and service managers, triage alerts across DLP, Insider Risk, endpoint, cloud and email security, and help with production changes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in data protection and cybersecurity.
• Logical troubleshooting mindset with step-by-step approach.
• Basic knowledge of networking, compute, endpoints and SaaS connections.
• Ability to read logs and technical docs to form a clear view.
• Curiosity, persistence and ownership with willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage alerts across DLP, Insider Risk, endpoint, cloud and email security.
• Investigate policy triggers, gather evidence, record findings and escalate risks.
• Perform platform health checks on endpoint connectivity, agents and telemetry.
• Verify new/updated rules, itemized monthly checks, and reduce false positives.
• Handle Level 1 client requests and escalate with clear technical evidence.
• Troubleshoot methodically using logs and dashboards to identify root causes.
• Assist with policy/rule configuration, testing, tuning and handover.
