  • Support the continued enhancements across the business, from a 1st Line Risk Management perspective, to ensure customer outcomes and data protection are considered for all new projects and products.
  • Support product risk reviews and report accordingly to the relevant committees.
  • Maintain the business information asset register and review on a regular basis.
  • Ensure business systems and procedures comply with all relevant data privacy and protections law, regulation and policy (including in relation to the retention and destruction of data).
  • Create and deliver training to educate colleagues on data protection procedures to ensure compliance with UK-GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Support the DPO and local businesses with data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and audits to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws.

  • Manage risk logs, including actively following up outstanding actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of risk events, partnering with Operational colleagues to ensure actions are taken to prevent recurrence

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of Data Protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven record of successfully selecting and implementing appropriate privacy controls.
  • In-depth knowledge of completing Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Experience of responding to Subject Access Requests.
  • Strong ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making recommendations.
  • Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively, and handle multiple deadlines in a diverse workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and communicate legislation in an accessible way.
  • Self-motivated and delivery focussed; persistence and determination to get things done.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion and integrity.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Knowledge of lease, hire purchase and loan documentation requirements for UK & Ireland.
  • Knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and Consumer regulatory requirements and how this interacts with business processes.
