4Square Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Data Protection & Privacy Consultant to join a growing team in London on a hybrid basis. You will serve as trusted advisor to clients, delivering privacy programmes and navigating UK GDPR and international laws.

The role combines hands-on privacy operations with client-facing consultancy, including DPIAs, data mapping, incident response, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in data protection / privacy roles.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and international frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs.
• Data mapping & asset registers experience.
• Incident/breach management & DSARs.
• IAPP certification (CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent).
• Comfortable working with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor for clients on data protection matters.
• Support and deliver privacy programmes (DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs, data mapping).
• Identify and manage data protection and cyber risks.
• Provide pragmatic advice on UK GDPR and international privacy regs.
• Support data breach response and regulatory compliance (ICO engagement).
• Develop and implement policies, governance frameworks, privacy controls.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions to stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with senior leadership.

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for clients on all data protection matters
• Supporting and delivering privacy programmes, including DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs, and data mapping
