Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Product Owner to lead data products from ideation to delivery, owning end-to-end planning and ensuring alignment with business goals. You will drive data pipelines, warehouses and analytics tools across their lifecycle.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, define acceptance criteria, manage risk, and maintain a prioritized backlog, pushing for process improvements and reliable delivery in a regulated data environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner or Delivery Lead in a data-focused environment; experience in insurance or other regulated environments is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, data warehousing and analytics concepts.
• Experience in risk and dependency management alongside stakeholder reporting; able to translate business requirements into technical solutions and discuss at both technical and non-technical levels.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, SQL and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements, coordinating across business and technical teams to balance demand, capacity and delivery commitments, and define the product vision.
• Define acceptance criteria for user stories and perform regular testing to ensure data product quality and reliability meet the defined criteria.
• Provide clear delivery reporting to stakeholders, including progress, risks, decisions and escalations where required; act as a bridge between technical and non‑technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project progress.
• Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring that user stories and tasks are well defined, estimated and ready for development.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance data product development and delivery.
