Salary/Rate: £492 inside ir35

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Data Product Owner that has a product owner and architect perspective on data mastering and how to enable the value stream and its services move towards strategic mastering and use of data across services and systems.
Responsibilities/Objectives
- Delving deep into the myriad systems and processes the bank uses to capture and process customer data across all its lines of business, you will develop an understanding of how we collect and use data and how we can improve our processes and systems to maximise its utility and quality while reducing our demands on customers to supply it.
- Empathising with internal business customer by actively listening to feedback, analysing usage data, identifying unmet internal and bank customer needs and opportunities for improvement to optimise how we collect and use customer data
- Establishing a clear data strategy and vision for the value stream that represents the need and wants of our internal customers to drive business value whilst communicating the value stream vision to business colleagues, Engineering, Architecture, delivery teams and stakeholders.
- Optimise value stream product costs to deliver customer and commercial value from our data related services, leveraging Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mechanisms, data and insights.
- Developing and communicating a compelling data product strategy that is aligned to an overall technology strategy, leveraging strategic vendor engagement and potential future direction.
- Translating the vision and strategy into a product backlog for various data services (feature writing and Story writing, backlog slicing), along with identifying Minimum Viable Product (MVP), planning releases and delivery roadmaps for the product.
- Working closely with other value stream and cross-line of business Product Owners and Architects to improve our collection and use of data and the data related services we own.
- Supporting business and delivery team in clearly understanding backlog items, their priority and why those items are key to customer success and manage backlog to align with Product vision and priorities.
- Working closely with developers, designers, and other stakeholders, fostering open communication, and building trust. This collaborative approach ensures smooth execution and timely delivery.
- Analysing user data, tracking success metrics (OKRs, KPIs and SLAs), and leveraging insights to make informed decisions that optimise the product's performance, value and commercial (profit and loss) goals.
- Ongoing day-to-day support on Business-as-Usual needs and facilitate effective deployment of strategies to support growth, regulatory aspects or customers in financial difficulties.
- Lead the engagement with various stakeholders across Business, Technology and Operations
- Implement and monitor the application of policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure data quality, effective data risk and compliance management and regulatory compliance. Operate controls effectively to ensure any issues with deployment is captured prior to go-live with maker/check and adequate quality checks.
- Drive and/or contribute to projects / programmes related to Decision Systems (e.g.: related to a new product launch, new channel, etc)
- Act as a centre of expertise for all data matters across the OBKYC and Customer Service value stream
Required Skills/Experience
- Extensive experience in a digital, technical or user centric product role (Product Owner or Product Manager) mixed with experience in an architecture or technical role in a data context.
- The skill and capability required to succeed in this role crosses business and technology in a way that few others do. Probably you will have had roles in technical support, testing or systems integration that exposed what happens when people get data issues wrong.
- You will spend significant time with Enterprise, Solution and Data Architects and will be comfortable discussing data issues with them and with developers.
- Ability to identify intended benefits and outcomes to assist in prioritisation process, and illustrate excellent decision making skills to inform road map development
- Must have a strong background in onboarding and KYC/CDD solutions or similar products preferably in a systems integration or data mastering related capacity
- Ability to positively influence, engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including high value customers, suppliers / vendors, and other internal Product teams
- Experience leveraging financial information to monitor costs and/or make commercial decisions to drive value
- Demonstrable management and critical decision-making experience in a regulated industry
- Confidence to experiment, test ideas, and share learnings and insights.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, process design, and requirements gathering skills along with knowledge of Project Management, Business Analysis, and / or Software Development Lifecycle - ideally in an Agile / Scrum environment.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and being outside your comfort zone.
- Able to challenge thinking and influence across the organisation.
