Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Data Product Owner to shape data products across Commercial, Clinical and Operational teams. You will define the vision, roadmap and delivery, working with data partners, analysts and engineers to enable insight-led decisions and better customer outcomes.

The role leads dashboards, data models and governance, ensuring data quality and compliance, while mentoring a small team and driving adoption in a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the vision, roadmap and backlog for data products across Commercial and Clinical & Operational domains.
• Collaborate with Data Business Partners and stakeholders to translate business priorities into data solutions.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of dashboards, reports and data models with analysts and data engineers.
• Ensure data products are governed, documented and align to data quality and compliance standards.
• Monitor product performance, adoption and impact; drive continuous improvement.
• Champion user-centred design to create intuitive data products.
• Manage and develop a small team of analysts; provide coaching and direction.
• Bridge between business and technical teams; align priorities and timelines.
• Support adoption through training and change management activities.

Data Product Owner

Location: Flexible / Hybrid

Contract: Permanent | Full Time

Salary £45,000 - £52,000 depending on experience level.

As a Data Product Owner, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering data products that drive insight-led decision making across our commercial, clinical, and operational teams. Working closely with Data Business Partners, stakeholders, analysts, and engineers, you will define the vision, roadmap, and delivery of trusted data products that enable better business outcomes and enhance the experience of our customers and colleagues.

How you'll help us make health happen

• Define and own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for data products across Commercial and Clinical & Operational domains.
• Collaborate with Data Business Partners and stakeholders to translate business priorities into actionable data solutions.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of dashboards, reports, and data models alongside analysts and data engineers.
• Ensure data products are governed, documented, and aligned to data quality and compliance standards.
• Monitor product performance, adoption, and impact, driving continuous improvement through feedback and analytics.
• Champion user-centred design principles to create intuitive and valuable data products.
• Manage and develop a small team of analysts, providing coaching and direction to support successful delivery.
• Act as the bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, objectives, and timelines.
• Support adoption and engagement through training, communication, and change management activities.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role

Essential:

• Strong understanding of data modelling, data governance, and data lifecycle management.
• Experience defining product roadmaps, backlogs, and user stories.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, analysts, and engineers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching team members.
• Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in Product Ownership or Product Management within Data, Analytics, or Business Intelligence environments.
• Experience within healthcare, clinical, or operational settings.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner, BCS Data Management, or equivalent.
