Job description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Privacy professional to build out a team at our Glasgow Campus.

The ideal candidate will be CIPP/E qualified, with deep technical knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies, risk management, and international data transfers. You will support the business by developing and overseeing proactive data privacy strategies.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with data privacy legislation, managing data privacy breaches, and implementing measures to prevent future incidents. You will also perform risk assessments, test controls, and provide expertise on privacy by design for emerging technologies.

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience managing personal data breaches, including containment and reporting
  • Relevant degree and/or CIPP/E qualification
  • Ability to ensure global privacy compliance and accountability for personal data

The role may involve assessing skills in risk and controls, change management, business acumen, strategic thinking, and technical expertise.

Purpose of the role

To provide expert oversight and challenge on business and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to Barclays' legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
