About the job
To provide case and technical support to the Data Privacy and Evidence Gatherer teams to ensure timely and accurate information provision by the team. Work in close partnership with key internal and external stakeholders to meet their data and information needs. To provide additional support within the Data Privacy team and gain experience in all areas covered.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Manage internal and external Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) - Handle DSARs from receipt to completion, ensuring all personal data emails, documents, CCTV footage, and other records is identified, reviewed, redacted, and disclosed in full compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Conduct searches and retrieval of personal data - Carry out comprehensive searches across email systems, digital records, and other data repositories to locate personal data relevant to DSARs, internal investigations, or regulatory enquiries.
- Perform redaction and data-minimisation activities - Review and redact personal data to ensure only information lawfully disclosable is shared, applying data-minimisation principles and maintaining a clear audit trail of decisions.
- Produce regular data-protection reporting - Prepare four-weekly reports for the Directorate summarising DSAR activity, compliance performance, risks, trends, and other key data-protection metrics.
- Support process improvement and compliance development - Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks within existing data-protection processes and contribute to the development of improved procedures, guidance materials, and internal controls.
- Handle CCTV-related personal data requests - Process requests for CCTV footage where it constitutes personal data, ensuring lawful basis, proportionality, appropriate redaction, and accurate documentation of all disclosures.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders - Respond to enquiries from internal teams, law enforcement, and external bodies regarding personal-data requests, ensuring all disclosures are lawful, proportionate, and properly recorded.
- Assist with data-quality and availability issues - Support the identification and escalation of issues affecting the availability, accuracy, or retrieval of personal data including CCTV, ensuring compliance with retention and evidential requirements.
- Collaborate with Evidence Gatherers and related teams - Work alongside Evidence Gatherers to ensure that the handling of CCTV and other evidential material aligns with data-protection requirements, including secure processing and controlled access.
- Maintain competency in data-protection systems and tools - Develop and maintain proficiency in systems used for searching, reviewing, redacting, and disclosing personal data, ensuring adherence to procedural and legislative standards.

You’ll need to be:
- The post holder will have a basic understanding of the Data Protection regulations.
- The post holder must be conversant with Windows, Excel and Microsoft Office packages
- The post holder must be able to build strong working relationships across the business along with external stakeholders
- The post holder must have a high level of discretion when dealing with fatalities and data subject access requests.
- The post holder must be able to travel to Wimbledon on regular basis.
- The post holder must be able to adapt to new technologies quickly.
