Job summary

PA Consulting seeks a Data Platform Tech Lead to design and deliver scalable data platforms powering analytics and AI across client engagements. You will steer multidisciplinary teams, shape architectures, and ensure robust governance, quality, and security in enterprise environments.

Based in the UK, this hybrid role requires clear communication with engineers, clients and senior stakeholders, plus the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive end-to-end delivery of complex data solutions.

Qualifications

• Led data engineering or data platform teams and set direction.
• Designed and delivered scalable, reliable data platforms in enterprise settings.
• Made sound architectural decisions across ingestion, storage, processing, and serving.
• Applied testing, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code to data platforms.
• Established data quality, observability, governance, metadata and security.
• Led data platform modernisation and migration, including cutover.
• Balanced trade-offs between platform, storage, processing and integration.
• Shaped end-to-end engineering lifecycle for data products.
• Communicated with engineers, clients and senior stakeholders clearly.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and turning business problems into solutions.
• Contributed technical input to bids, proposals and client discussions.

Responsibilities

• Steer technical teams through complex challenges and guide clients toward digital transformations.
• Provide mentorship to engineers and foster continuous improvement.
• Lead in-person whiteboarding sessions and collaborative problem solving.
• Help teams use GenAI effectively within engineering delivery and governance.
• Work in a hybrid model with client sites or offices as needed.
