Job summary

M&G is seeking a Data Platform Solution Architect to translate business outcomes into scalable data product designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and governance. You will collaborate with product owners, engineers, security, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data platforms for reporting, analytics and operational use cases.

You will shape target-state patterns, drive design assurance, and contribute to reference architectures while coordinating with platform leadership.

Qualifications

• Design end-to-end data platforms with ingestion, storage and semantic layers.
• Translate business outcomes into data product definitions, SLAs and acceptance criteria.
• Embed data governance, security and privacy controls into designs from inception.
• Provide architecture design reviews and proactively surface risks and issues.

Responsibilities

• Produce end-to-end solution designs covering ingestion, transformation, storage, semantic layers and consumption patterns for BI/MI and analytics.
• Translate business outcomes into data product definitions, including scope, SLAs and controls.
• Embed data governance, data security and privacy controls into solution designs.
• Provide design assurance through delivery via walkthroughs and advisory for squads.
• Develop, maintain and contribute to reference architectures and templates.
• Define integration approaches across APIs, events and file-based interfaces.
• Support governance forums with architecture reviews and release governance.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to align designs with strategy and roadmaps.
• Coach engineers and analysts on design practice and stakeholder communication.
