Job summary

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, implement and optimise data pipelines, loading data into the data warehouse and supporting analytics across the Trust.

You will work in the Central Business Intelligence (BI) Data Engineering Team on a 12‑month development secondment, migrating from SQL Server to Snowflake and contributing to national reporting and NOF metrics.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in SQL-based query tools.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses/lakes.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as SSIS or equivalents.
• Knowledge of data modelling, database design, and data integration patterns.
• Familiarity with cloud-based BI tools (Snowflake, Azure BI, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform and load data.
• Ensure data quality across the data platform and support NHS national returns and reporting.
• Support migration of pipelines and reporting objects to Snowflake during the Data Platform Modernisation.
• Develop and maintain metadata repositories and documentation for data flows and reports.
• Collaborate with analytical teams to develop high-quality data models for reporting and dashboards.
