Job summary

Cirium is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and improve data platform services that power critical analytics across the business. You will collaborate with engineers to drive end-to-end delivery from research to production and continuous improvement.

You will contribute to data pipelines, observability, and automation in cloud-native environments, with a focus on GenAI adoption and documentation for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering or a related field (equivalent experience and non-traditional backgrounds are welcome).
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to share ideas and designs effectively through documentation and collaboration.
• Experience working with data platforms, distributed systems, and data pipelines in cloud-native environments.
• Understanding of SRE practices, including observability, incident response, and automation.
• Experience with Git and Github, Terraform, AWS environments, Kafka, and Python. (Equivalent technologies are welcome, too.)
• Some experience with data manipulation - for example SQL.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for solving complex problems and troubleshooting technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable and resilient data platform services using DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
• Peer review code to promote best practice and continuous improvement.
• Respond to support requests to keep other teams in Cirium running with our Data Platform.
• Write and maintain documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments and bring these into the business, particularly GenAI.
