Job summary

Tripadvisor is seeking a Data Engineer II to join the Data Platform team in Oxford. You will design, build, and sustain data infrastructure powering travel platforms, writing production Java and Python, and delivering scalable pipelines across Snowflake, BigQuery, Hive, and more.

You will own ETL/ELT processes, model data for analytics, and work with cross‑functional teams to ensure data quality, governance, and timely delivery in a fast-paced, cloud‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing complex data pipelines for terabyte-scale data.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-quality code in Java and Python.
• Familiarity with big data tech (Hadoop/Hive/BigQuery/Snowflake) and modern ETL/ELT patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data models for analytics and data science.
• Develop and maintain REST services and data platforms with a CI/CD mindset.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and ML teams to ensure data quality and governance.
