Job summary

Wessex Water Services is recruiting a Data and Performance Analyst to analyse and report regulatory performance measures, customer feedback and wholesale performance. You will turn performance data into insights, create dashboards and reports that support regulatory compliance, business improvement and better customer outcomes.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to obtain data, explain performance trends and support improvement actions, producing clear reports and commentary

  • Maintain checks, reconciliations and documentation to support auditability and reporting confidence.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues impacting reporting accuracy or regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze performance trends and support improvement actions.
  • Automate recurring reporting and improve self-service access to insights.
  • Provide analysis related to non-household income, wholesale market performance and related risks.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated Data and Performance Analyst to analyse and report regulatory performance measures, customer feedback and Developer and Wholesale performance.

What you'll do

You will turn performance data into clear insights, reporting and dashboards that support regulatory compliance, business improvement and better customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • support the completion of annual performance reporting, annual audit tables and ad-hoc regulator requests, ensuring data is accurate, evidenced and submitted to required deadlines
  • maintain appropriate checks, reconciliations and documentation to support auditability and reporting confidence
  • identify and support resolution of data quality issues that could impact reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance or customer outcomes
  • analyse performance trends, identify areas of underperformance and provide insight to support improvement activity
  • identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and improve self-service access to performance insights
  • provide analysis and insight relating to non-household income, wholesale market performance and associated financial risks and opportunities
  • work with internal and external stakeholders to obtain data, resolve issues, explain performance trends and support improvement actions
  • produce clear reports, presentations and commentary for internal stakeholders, senior management and external reporting requirements.
What you'll need

We are looking for:

  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • strong Excel capability, including data manipulation, validation, reconciliation and analysis, with the ability to develop advanced reporting skills quickly
  • experience with Power BI, Power Query, QlikView or similar reporting tools
  • ability to produce clear written reports and presentations
  • high attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • compliance-focused mindset.

Desirable:

  • experience in MS SQL or querying large datasets
  • AI natural language modelling tools
  • degree or equivalent experience in an analytical, data or IT-related discipline.
