TP ICAP in Belfast seeks a Data Ops Engineer to ensure reliable, scalable data pipelines for Trade and Communications Surveillance, bridging engineering and operations.

You will implement data quality checks, build AWS infra with Terraform/CDK, and collaborate with analysts and developers to maintain data lineage and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong ETL/ELT data pipeline experience in financial markets.
• CI/CD pipelines understandings with a software engineering/data analytics background.
• Proficiency in Python or Java, SQL, and data pipeline frameworks (Airflow, dbt, Spark) with AWS experience.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Previous experience in Data Ops and Data Engineering.
• Strong communication and collaboration with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain and optimise end-to-end data pipelines between source data and destinations.
• Implement data completeness and quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes.
• Identify Critical Data Elements and implement failover and recovery strategies.
• Build AWS infrastructure using Terraform or CDK.
• Write unit, integration, and infrastructure tests.
• Monitor, investigate and resolve data anomalies with cross‑functional teams.
• Implement data governance to ensure data loaded per platform requirements (Scila, Global Relay).
• Partner with Data Strategy/Infrastructure to enforce data lineage, auditability and retention policies.
• Ensure data processing complies with regulatory, legal, and security protocols.
