A high performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralised Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data and taking on a highly visible role, the hire will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving optimization of data pipeline operations and quality management, from onboarding raw data to delivering data points to front office/investment teams. You will utilize languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex data analysis. The candidate will act as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and serve as the point of contact for Traders.
The role also involves working on ad hoc projects with front office and technology teams, testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and helping develop a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst at a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced programming languages for analyzing large datasets are required, ideally within a financial services data team.
The position offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a performance bonus. Initially, a 5-day office week is expected, with the possibility of working from home 1–2 days per week once established.
