A high-performing, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund is looking to hire a Data Analyst into their rapidly growing centralized Data Management team.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data and taking on a highly visible role, the successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Product Control, Risk, Trading, and Research teams to ensure smooth data transmission. The role has a technical/engineering focus, involving optimization of data pipeline operations and quality management, from raw data onboarding to delivery of data points to front office/investment teams.
You will utilize your technical expertise in languages such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Matlab to perform quality checks and identify anomalies through complex data analysis. You will serve as the main interface between data sourcing and data engineering and act as the point of contact for traders.
Additional responsibilities include collaborating with front office and technology teams on testing new data onboarding platforms, setting data governance metrics, and assisting in developing a centralized data management platform.
Candidates should have 2–7 years of experience as a Data Operations Specialist, Data Solutions Analyst, or Data Governance Analyst within a hedge fund, asset manager, or major data vendor. A strong academic background and experience with advanced coding languages for analyzing large datasets are essential, preferably within a financial services data team.
The role offers a base salary of up to £125K plus a performance bonus. Initially, the role requires a 5-day office week, with the possibility of working from home 1-2 days per week once established.
