Qualient Technology Solutions UK Limited is seeking an experienced Data Modeller with a strong Investment Banking background to support complex data initiatives across trading, risk, settlements and regulatory reporting.

This niche, hands-on modelling role works closely with business SMEs and technical teams to design robust logical and physical models for data warehouses, data lakes and data marts, focusing on capital markets data flows and performance-driven design.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data modelling across logical and physical layers.
• Experience in capital markets data flows (trading, risk, settlements).
• Hands-on modelling tool usage (ERwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio).
• Strong SQL and performance-driven design.
• Collaborates with business SMEs and tech teams.
• Nice to have regulatory/data governance exposure (BCBS 239, MiFID) could be considered.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeller with a strong Investment Banking background to support complex data initiatives across trading, risk, settlements, and regulatory reporting. This is a niche, hands-on modelling role (not architecture) for someone who can work closely with business SMEs and technical teams to design robust logical and physical models.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop logical and physical data models for data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts
• Work closely with business SMEs to translate requirements into scalable data models
• Support capital markets data flows across equities, fixed income, derivatives, trade & position data
• Apply performance considerations and best practices in model design
• Use leading data modelling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, etc.

Must-Have Skills

• 7+ years of overall data modelling experience
• 4-5+ years dedicated to logical and physical modelling
• Strong background in Investment Banking (trading, risk, settlements, collateral, reference data, regulatory reporting)
• Hands-on experience with modelling tools (ERwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio or similar)
• Excellent understanding of capital markets products and data flows
• Strong SQL skills and performance-driven model design
• Ability to work effectively with business and technology stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience with data governance, metadata, and data lineage
• Background in regulatory/risk data programmes (BCBS 239, FRTB, MiFID, etc.)
