Job summary

Roche Welwyn is seeking a Data Modeling Expert to drive data modeling, semantics, and standards across REDs. You will translate scientific requirements into robust data models and support AI/ML readiness for data assets.

The role emphasizes governance, FAIR principles, and cross-functional collaboration within the Data Connectivity team. Based onsite at Welwyn, you will influence information architecture and contribute to data quality strategies while working in a global, innovative environment

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a scientific or technical field.
• Experience in Data Governance, Data Standards, Data Modeling, Ontology Development, or related fields.
• Proficient in one or more critical relevant scientific or data domains and able to lead initiatives.
• Exceptional communicator with strong networking abilities in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert on data modeling, ontologies, semantics, and standards.
• Translate complex scientific requirements into clear data models for FAIR data use by the team.
• Contribute to and drive development of data models and information architecture solutions for FAIR data processes.
• Contribute to strategies that ensure pan-RED Roche data is AI/ML-ready and shape AI/data policy efforts.
• Contribute to data quality tracking and measurement strategies for annotated xRED data.
• Foster a OneRoche data-centric mindset and advocate for data standards, governance, and FAIR principles.
• Contribute to development and improvement of Data Governance strategies related to data standards.
