Job description

My client is based in the London area and is currently looking to recruit an experienced Data Modeler to join their team. They are one of the leaders within the consulting space and are going through a period of growth, backed by a huge multinational equity firm. They expect to see year-on-year growth, allowing them to implement and utilize the most in-demand and cutting-edge technology on the market right now, including Gen AI.

Your role will include:

1. Designing and developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise-scale data lake and data warehouse solutions.
2. Creating functional & technical documentation, such as data integration architecture documentation, data models, data dictionaries, data integration specifications, and data testing plans.
3. Guiding, influencing, and challenging technology teams and stakeholders to understand the benefits, pros, and cons of solution options.
4. Setting the technical direction for the data platform landscape and solutions, in collaboration with delivery and engineering teams.

This is a hands-on role requiring extensive exposure to cloud technologies. The right candidate will have extensive knowledge of writing code, building data pipelines, and performing transformation and ingestion in a specified tech suite.

Minimum requirements:

1. Extensive experience in implementing solutions around the AWS cloud environment (S3, Snowflake, Athena, Glue).
2. In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
3. Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
4. Excellent understanding of Data Modelling (ERwin, PowerDesigner, Dimensional Modelling).
5. Understanding of SQL/database management.
6. Strong hands-on experience in Data Warehouse and Data Lake technologies, preferably around AWS.
