Job summary

Belcan is seeking an experienced Data Migration Specialist to support the migration of a UK acquisition to SAP ECC6. You will handle data preparation, cleansing, conversion, loading and reconciliation across iterative migration cycles, ensuring business readiness for deployment and a smooth go-live.

The role requires hands-on migration from non-SAP to SAP ECC6, development of load programs (LSMW), and close collaboration with functional teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience migrating data from non-SAP systems to SAP ECC6.
• Experience developing data migration load programs (e.g. LSMW).
• Strong understanding of SAP data objects.
• Experience with data conversion, mapping and transformation.
• Experience resolving data load defects and failures.
• Ability to work with functional consultants and business stakeholders.
• Strong problem solving and organisational skills.
• UK SC security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain data migration plans, mapping specifications and runbooks.
• Assist business teams with cleansing non-SAP data.
• Prepare templates for master and transactional data.
• Maintain source-to-target mapping documentation and transformation rules.
• Develop migration test scripts (e.g. using LSMW).
• Execute migration test loads and troubleshoot defects.
• Conduct dress rehearsals and reconciliations for data quality.
• Contribute to cutover and go-live planning.
• Support production data migration activities.

Role Overview

A leading European Defence business is seeking an experienced data migration specialist to support the migration of a recent UK acquisition to their ECC6 SAP system

The role will focus on data preparation, cleansing, conversion, loading and reconciliation from a non- SAP system to SAP ECC6 through iterative migration cycles, ensuring business readiness for deployment and supporting a successful go-live.

Contract details

Location: Newport. Gwent

Contract: 6 Months, inside IR35

Working pattern: 35 hours per week over 4,5 days. Full time onsite.

Rate: Up to £74ph Umbrella

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain key documentation including data migration plans, mapping specifications and runbooks.
• Support business teams with data cleansing of non-SAP data.
• Prepare templates for master and transactional data.

• Maintain source to target mapping documentation and transformation rules.

• Develop migration test scripts i.e. using LSMW.
